Member: Virginia State Bar and the Chesterfield Bar Association.

Practice Emphasis: General Litigation, Corporate and organization litigation, residential and commercial real estate litigation, governmental immunity and use of force cases.

Justin Criner received his undergraduate degree in Political Science at Virginia Commonwealth University where he met his wife and fell in love with Richmond and the surrounding areas. Mr. Criner received his juris doctor from the Appalachian School of Law in 2013 where he was a senior editor of the law journal and the president of the local Lions’ Club. He remains active in the community and can regularly be found at Lions’ Club or VCU athletic events. Mr. Criner’s first legal experience out of law school was as a prosecutor and criminal defense attorney in Charleston, WV. After moving back to the Commonwealth of Virginia, Mr. Criner opened his own part-time practice in the Stafford, VA area before returning to the Richmond, Virginia area and later joining our firm.


Mr. Criner became a principal shareholder of the Beale Law Firm in 2021 and manages the litigation division of the firm. Mr. Criner’s practice includes prosecuting and defending civil actions in state and federal court at both the trial and appellate level. Mr. Criner’s clients range in size from individual consumers seeking their day in Court, to national corporations requiring extensive multi-party litigation. Mr. Criner prides himself on being able to bring countless hours of courtroom experience to each case while still taking the time to provide personal attention to individual clients and work collaboratively with them to achieve the most beneficial outcomes. He resides in Chesterfield County with his wife, daughter, and new baby boy and can usually be found cheering on the VCU Rams at the Siegel Center.
